These guys are the very denition of filthy black metal. From Brooklyn, NY, Mutilation Rites was founded in 2009. They pull from many different aspects of metal to create a mezmerizing blend of thrash-laden black metal delivers fist pumping riffs, entranced atmosphere, and merciless speed alike. To showcase the superb songwriting "I Am Legion" was recorded and mastered in a manner atypical to most black metal these days, foregoing the tinny high-end sound for a more sonically diverse album with enough low end to hit hard. ."I Am Legion" is presented as a one-sided 12" with b-side etching. Both jacket artwork (printed w/ metallic silver ink on heavy stock jackets) and b-side etching were created by Reuben Sawyer of Rainbath Visual. Each of the three songs on "I Am Legion" are entirely re-worked and re-recorded versions of early Mutilation Rites demos, presented anew by the current lineup. The rst pressing is a run of 500 copies on 180g vinyl, and includes an 11" x 4.25" insert printed with metallic silver ink."
