Senking's new outing for Raster is equal parts concision and propulsion. Comprised of two seven minute tracks, the EP begins with brazen, off-kilter drum programming augmented by a subtly modulated, snaking bassline. "The Dance Hall Walk" works by way of slow, logical accretion, steadily accumulating details, each more entrancing than the last. A haunting melody, lower in the mix, fleshes out the bassline, and is soon joined by organ-like tones. Vocals enter the mix around the three minute mark, filtered and robotic yet not quite devoid of pathos. "Closing Eyes" on the flip offers a less bombastic variant of the piece on Side A, all distant vocals and shadowy synth work. Indeed, "Dazed" is another solid outing from Senking, whose "List" longplayer should be required listening for fans of contemporary beat-oriented electronic music. - Alex Cobb, Experimedia

With Dazed, Senking continues his exploration of the abysses of sound to create dark and gloomy atmospheres. The slow beats of the two tracks are accompanied by tender, harmonic melodies, but broken by nervous, unsteady tones. "The Dance Hall Walk" also features a vocal sample by Micheal Cram. Dazed is not only concerned with the depths of sound, but also with the depths of the human psyche, where there is no escape other than music itself.
